Sintering and pelletizing are the processes of major importance for the iron production. During 2014, as per World Steel Association, the production of blast furnace iron and direct reduced iron were 1183 million tons and 73 million tons respectively.
The most common agglomeration process is the sintering of fine ore. As a rule, larger amounts of circulation material are used in the sintering plant. This often leads to increased emissions. A good solution here is a cloth filter system with a semi-dry sorption process.
The integrated blast furnace and oxygen steel-making route happens to be a dominant process for steel production worldwide.
